NRL Lyon in line to lead Blues
TWO years ago he turned down a NSW jumper, now Jamie Lyon is a shock candidate to captain the Blues.
Twenty-four hours after Parramatta stalwart Nathan Hindmarsh declared his interest in leading NSW, Lyon has joined the race to captain the Blues in this year’s State of Origin series against Queensland.

Sea Eagles snare Lyon, Watmough for life
Manly have struck a double blow by re-signing stars Jamie Lyon and Anthony Watmough, virtually until the end of their careers.
Co-captain Lyon will be nearly 32 when his NRL contract extension concludes at the end of 2013, while Watmough, 27 this year, has signed a four-year deal taking him through until the end of 2014.

Manly captain Jamie Lyon backs young halves Kieran Foran, Trent Hodkinson
Manly co-captain Jamie Lyon has given the club's rookie halfbacks the seal of approval, adamant the Sea Eagles are well covered to replace Matt Orford.
Lyon is set to start the year back in the No. 6 jersey from where he guided the club to the 2008 premiership, with Des Hasler keen for the veteran to play a guiding hand for young halves Kieran Foran and Trent Hodkinson.

Willie Mason is NRL's most overrated player
HAVE North Queensland bought a lemon? The fans who voted in The Daily Telegraph online fan survey certainly believe so.
Nearly 20 per cent of fans voted the Cowboys' high-profile recruit Willie Mason as the NRL's most overrated player.
Former Roosters teammate Braith Anasta (12 per cent) ran second ahead of Manly co-captain Jamie Lyon (10 per cent).

I think it's pretty pathetic, Jamie being voted 3rd most over-rated...but yet Lockyer is still in the top 4 NRL BEST players??? Fans still pick him cos of his past I think

BLINDSIDE: Jamie Lyon can still be a Blue
NEWLY named Manly skipper Jamie Lyon is still available to play representative football this year.
The Australian and NSW Rugby League have yet to hear from Lyon about his intentions for the season ahead.

Lyon ready for extra responsibility
Representative star Jamie Lyon has declared he's ready for the challenge of captaining Manly in the NRL this season.
Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler has yet to make a decision on who will lead the maroon and whites this year following premiership-winning skipper Matt Orford's move to England.

Fists fly as Eagles sink Sharks
THEIR bitter rivalry was born out of the code's most brutal grand final 37 years ago and last night beachboy combatants Cronulla and Manly wound back the clock as the fists flew again in the Sea Eagles' 18-4 trial match win.
