“KURT ANGLE, champion pro TNA wrestler will be MARZ, in Scream Entertainment’s all new 3D re-imagining of the 80′s slasher hit, MADMAN. Entitled MADMAN MARZ, the new 3D movie is gearing up to shoot in 2011.  There will be blood. Heads will roll. Limbs will be torn asunder. Bad times will be had by almost all.”

Kurt tweeted that his daughter Kyra was in a Taylor Swift music video, here is the video

From PWInsider.com: Last night, CMT did a behind the scenes special and “world premiere” showing of Taylor Swift’s new music video “Mine”. The special featured TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, his three daughters (Jaclyn, Joslyn and Jeryn), and Kyra Angle, the daughter of Karen and Kurt Angle.

The video was shot a month ago in Maine with Jaclyn Jarrett, playing the role of a young Taylor Swift. She is the middle daughter of Jeff Jarrett and his late wife Jill, who lost her battle with breast cancer in May 2007. I am told that during Jill’s battle with cancer, Swift befriended the Jarretts and has remained very close with them.

Swift flew the entire family up to appear in the music video, as Jarrett’s two other daughters Joslyn and Jeryn (a lot of “Js” in that family!), as well as Kyra Angle have appearances in the video as well. Jeff Jarrett was shown on camera during the “making of” the video special that aired on CMT.

To all connecticut residents, as u know linda mcmahon is running for office. I worked with linda on many projects in wwe. Linda was a professional that got things done. I worked with her on “smackdown ur vote” among many other projects. She is smart, bright and a true leader. I am now in tna and it doesn’t benefit me to talk about linda or what a great woman she is. I saw with my own eyes. She’s honest, sincere and always looked out for what was best to her employees. Linda was the positiveness in wwe. She has the qualities that I would want in a politician. She listens to you, and always does the right thing. If I were living in connecticut, I would vote for her with pride and an eagerness to get the economy, real estate and health reform back on track. Remember, I’m in tna and I don’t plan on leaving but I want what is best for this country, and linda mcmahon has that “IT” factor you rarely see in today’s leaders. Good luck linda. We head out to the ring where Dixie Carter, complete with her own entrance music, comes out with a microphone. Oh, and by the way, in case you didn’t know, you can follow Dixie Carter on Twitter! Dixie says that a lot of great things have happened since she’s been involved with TNA, but there have been challenges as well, and it’s through these challenges that TNA has become stronger and become a family. She talks about far outlasting the critics’ predictions, the countless people who have helped build TNA into what it is today, and she vowed back then that she would never let anyone or anything hurt this company, and she plans to keep that promise. She calls Ric Flair out to the ring for a stern talking to. So Cal Val, who they sorely need to get on TV more, holds the ropes open for Flair. Continue reading »

Here is an interview I conducted with TNA star Kurt Angle recently at The National Sports Collectors Convention at The Baltimore Convention Center.

One question had to be edited out because of audio difficulties, but I have transcribed it below.

Q: How are you feeling physically?

A: Right now I’m fine. My knees, my lower back and my neck are always stiff, but from a working perspective I haven’t felt better. Since I started professional wrestling in late ’99, early 2000, I think this is probably the best I’ve felt, and it has a lot to do with the reduced work schedule in TNA where they’re not using me at every house show. So having that lower schedule has allowed my body to recuperate more.

Tournament follow-up: The voice-over announcer set up the tournament finals being settled at Bound for Glory in October. They cut to quick soundbytes from Kurt Angle and The Pope before talking about No Surrender where four men will be in the semi-final matches. Pope talked about having an opportunity to get back to the top. Next week, the road to BFG begins for Kurt Angle. Will Angle have enough fortitude to call himself World champion again?

Angle backstage: Kurt Angle was shown sitting down thinking about his future ahead of him. Angle said he wanted to run through the entire Top 10. He said he beat six guys to work his way back to #1, and all of a sudden, it’s thrown to the side. Angle said RVD is a true champion, but he had something in his mind that he had set. He wanted to go through the Top 10 and win the TNA Title. They showed shots of Angle training in the gym. “When that got thrown aside for company reasons and RVD getting injured, it’s just not right,” he said. Angle said now he has to deal with this little tournament to accomplish his goal via shortcut. Angle guaranteed he’ll be in the finals.

Kurt Angle cut a Reaction-like promo on Doug Williams. He said he has gone through hell so far going through the top ten, but he is close to once again becoming the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

4. Kurt Angle defeated Doug Williams in a non-title first round tournament match in 4:57.

Williams enjoyed the early advantage and scored the first nearfall. He then a very impressive gut wrench suplex for another two count. Angle scored his first nearfall after an overhead belly to belly suplex. Williams came back though and hit a top rope European uppercut for a close nearfall. Angle immediately hit three German suplexes, releasing on the final one. Angle countered a rolling chaos (roll up into a German) by locking in the ankle lock. Williams was forced to tap out.
